Have you tried chocolates from Sterchi's Chocolatiers yet? - Westow Vineyard

To complement our Yorkshire sparkling wine, we recommend chocolates from the family-owned artisan chocolatier, Sterchi’s in Filey. A visit to Sterchi’s to collect chocolates for our online shop is the highlight of our trips to the coast and we love the feedback that we get from delighted customers. A box of Sterchi’s chocolates is a very special gift.

For those of you who are lucky enough to live in or have visited the North Yorkshire seaside town of Filey, you may be well aware why no trip to this famous seaside town is complete without a visit to Sterchi’s Chocolatiers (and why we choose to sell them online as a perfect accompaniment to our Erishskroy Sparkling Wines).

Sterchi’s Chocolatiers was established in 1919 by Swiss-born Mr Sterchi who came to Filey before WW1 and married a local lady, Mary Williams. The entrepreneurial pair set up a chocolate shop and quickly gained a reputation for the quality of their traditional handmade and hand-dipped chocolates based on original recipes. Although Mr Sterchi passed away in 1956, subsequent owners have maintained Mr Sterchi’s legacy and continue to make delicious chocolates to the original recipes and use traditional production methods.

All of Sterchi’s chocolates are made on the premises of the tiny shop on Hope Street in Filey (the smell is divine!) The range is a delightful mixture of traditional favourites like violet creams, Brazil nut and Turkish delight combined with modern chocolate drops and truffles and because they are individually hand-dipped, no two chocolates are ever the same.

Nothing says ‘I Love You’ more than chocolates and sparkling wine, so why not order a bottle and a box for a special someone, or maybe just treat yourself? We can deliver them, along with one of our handwritten greetings cards to most places in the UK, or you are welcome to come to the vineyard at Westow Farm to pick them up.
